2026-2027 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Greetings,

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to a new bar year as President of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association.

As we begin this new chapter, I am reminded of the strength of our organization and the remarkable community of lawyers, judges, and legal professionals who make the Straker Bar Association what it is. The legal profession carries with it a profound responsibility—not only to clients and the courts, but also to our communities and to one another. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside you.

This year, our focus will be on strengthening our organization, supporting our members, and continuing to advance the values that bring us together. We will create meaningful opportunities for professional development, mentorship, networking, and service, while ensuring that the Straker Bar Association remains responsive to the evolving needs of our membership.

I especially encourage each of you to become involved. Attend a program, join a committee, mentor a colleague, welcome a new member, or simply share your ideas about how we can make the Straker Bar Association stronger. The vitality of Straker Bar Association depends upon the participation and engagement of its members.

I also want to recognize and thank our past presidents, officers, directors, committee chairs, and membership whose dedication has helped build the foundation upon which we stand today. We inherit a strong organization because of their commitment, and it is our responsibility to continue that tradition while looking toward the future.

The year ahead presents many opportunities for us to learn from one another, build lasting professional relationships, and make a meaningful difference in the legal community and beyond. I look forward to working with all of you and to celebrating the accomplishments we will achieve together.

Thank you for the confidence you have in me. It is a privilege to serve as your President, and I am excited about the year ahead.
